Our recently donated Hi-Vis vests had their first outing recently when some Shed members undertook a litter pick around the bridge over the Black Burn on Main Road. Last month’s stormy weather and resulting higher water flow resulted in lots of debris being deposited on the banks of the burn along with the unfortunately usual scattering of bottles, cans, crisp packets and other detritus.
Armed with litter pickers, collection bags and suitably attired in their new vests, the Shedders set about collecting what they could and depositing it all where it should be, in the litter bin at the entrance to Burn Park.
The new vests in a range of sizes were kindly gifted to the Shed by local engineering and fabrication company H&F Moir on the back of an earlier financial donation. Bearing the Shed name and the company’s logo, the vests help keep our Shedders both visible and protected when engaged in outdoor activities.
