Securing our future

After several months searching for suitable premises and even looking at options for building something new, Blackburn and Kinellar Men’s Shed secured its long-term future in February in signing a lease agreement with a generous local partner.

H&R Insurance, a well‑established, family‑run firm of insurance brokers based at Woodburn Road, in the Blackburn business park, kindly agreed to let the top floor of their premises to the Shed, giving us the space and stability we need to continue growing.

After the signing, Shed members marked the occasion by presenting H&R Insurance partner Ms Shona Robertson with a commemorative coin.

This support marks an important milestone in our journey and a significant step forward for our members. Having a dedicated, secure base will allow us to plan confidently for the future, expand our activities, and welcome more men from the community into a friendly, purposeful environment.

The generosity shown by the company reflects the strong community spirit that makes our area special. Their willingness to back the Shed ensures that local men of all ages will continue to have a place to connect, learn new skills, and support one another.

Everyone at Blackburn and Kinellar Men’s Shed extends heartfelt thanks to H&R Insurance for their trust and commitment. We look forward to settling into our new home and building on this partnership in the years ahead.
